Finally it's Halloween Nottingham Malaysian Games 2009! Many people didn't sleep and I delayed my sleeping time for 2 hours which I didn't know why. Woke up at 2.20, and had a shower, breakfast, and "pulled" Alvin out of the flat.
Exhibition Road outside Imperial, at 3.43 am
The bus left at 4.15 4.35 for some reasons and reached the University of Nottingham 5 minutes before the opening ceremony is supposed to start at.
The MC behind the big trophies
It's a long time since I last sang Negaraku with such a big crowd really, making me think of High School's assembly where some prefects always tells us not to sing but to shut up.
After a while, I met people from Birmingham (Ray+Nick), KCL (Steven), LSE (Jasmine + Junhao), Warwick (Yit Tze and friends), Cambridge (Tian Huey), etc etc. Soon the Imperial people were more or less seperated here and there, and I followed...
Xin Ning and Su Lin
Towards Portland Building, we walked a long journey and I was stating that if I applied here I'd be mad if I wake up late for lectures. Bought total of £5 worth of coupons, bought cendol and nasi ayam + telur. It's rare to get these easily, even in London.
Whee...The cendol kinda suck though.
Soon after we left the building, I met Danny and friends so coincidentally after meeting Woei Yi. Thanks for saving/kidnapping me people. =x We went in once again and came out to have a walk at the lakeside. Beautiful indeed:

We had ice cream too, Danny's suggestion =D
Yu Min and Woon Chien
From Right: Danny and I
We sat down and chatted for quite a while before the ice cream session as my legs were tired from walking up hills. Soon we finally decided to watch proper matches in the sports centre, finally.
That's taken during the volleyball match of Imperial vs Nottingham(Scary people). Lost to them but the next match I watched was Wern Chia vs some other girl (Badminton Single) and won =). After that, people started to get hungry and we decided to go to city centre (Wtf? So late edy). But then, I still followed for the sake of food XD.
Was tough deciding where to eat, ended up at Nando's after Zhi Xiong shouted "On". It's really nice you know? 6 Boys and 1 Girl (?). Poor Kayla was constantly asked by us to get her a sausage to qualify as we never categorized her as a normal girl XD. Had a great time and before I started worrying, Jonathan talked alot:
"So you all think that I'm a high-tech plumber la?"
Definition of Chem Eng was so twisted with that line. Anyway, since 85.7% (1 d.p) of us bought returning bus tickets to the Uni, most of us refused to take taxi as it's deemed a waste of money. Therefore, we boarded the last bus (8.05 pm). Technically it's not our fault for being late for the returning bus already. =x
Rushed back, and slept in the bus. Zzz...
Strictly before my birthday itself (Oct 20 UK time), I received like 8 wishes from Malaysia already when I finished my lectures. Around 6.35 pm, Sean, Sonke and Jamie brought me out for dinner and bowling as promised yesterday.
As Sean cycled back, Sonke and Jamie waited for the bus to Bayswater with me. Walking through Whiteleys, Sonke gave me another birthday present, if you counted the muffins previously:
Waffle with chocolate, with free sprinkles too.
Finally reached their special flat with the door totally dedicated for them. Ali came along.
I really thought we'd go for dinner first but we went for bowling. After the first round, Sonke's hands were so itchy that he used his card for another round for everyone. Everything was just hilarious. Free spares, free strikes, 10 balls stuck inside, Sonke getting scolded by manager etc etc.
Thanks for the games and the lemonade (ordered by Sean)
Everyone was starving as it was already 9 pm ++. When we reached Nando's, surprisingly it was a full house, on a Tuesday night (you just won't get this in Malaysia unless it's New Year's Eve). Waited for a place and bloody people paying like slowpokes by the till, we finally settled down around...9.50 pm?
Ali
Sonke
Jamie
Sean
Sadly Alan didn't come along, Sean and friends will really have a hard time settling him down as I know exactly what kind of traits he has, which is very frightening after they described his new attitude. Good luck guys...
And...
Thanks Sean for the bottomless Yoghurt.
Soon Sonke and I went to look for our bus stops and I left first, too tired to stay awake until 12 out of my flat. Thanks alot Garden hallmates. Soon it's finally officially my birthday...
Oct 21, 2009
This morning, Calvin went out for something, which I wasn't too sure about. Soon he came back and shouted "Tommy" again as usual. But then, 4 people came in with a birthday song!! Thanks Grace, Hui Xian and Han Yang didi for baking the cake and gave me such a surprise! Don't worry, I'm really not gonna blame you all for pretending that you didn't know it was my birthday. 20 candles, too bad I didn't concentrate blowing them all at once. =x
Whee
From left: Hui Xian, Han Yang didi, Calvin, me (Thanks Grace for photographing)
Thanks didi for the chocolates. Soon, everyone left the flat after having a piece each, then I went for some piano playing too. I wanted to play another piece, then there was another SMS asking me if I could open the flat door in 5 mins. *Poof*, Tommy disappeared from Blyth. There goes He Jian waiting on the door, with this:
2nd Cake ^^. Really sorry for not bringing it to the karaoke session arrr...T_T
We sat down for a while as he walked from 10 shops further than Hui Xian and Grace. (Hahaha...) Gave him a piece of their self-bake cake too. (Girls you don't mind de hor?) Soon he realised he doesn't have enough battery on his phone and he went back home to charge after camping in Library for a while...
Chem engers, thanks for coming to the karaoke session! Credits to Nature for pulling so many ffk-ers. He ended up reading a book and never sang a single song. =(
So far 94 wishes on facebook (including Calvin and Han Yang didi), 5 UK wishing SMSes including Harrods, 3 Malaysia wishing SMSes including my mum. Thanks everyone. ^_^
